If you’re set on a beach wedding then look no further than Pensacola Beach. With it’s white sand beaches, sparkling clear waters, and 343 days of sun each year. Plus, there are plenty of hotels and large homes along the beach for accommodating your guests.

There is a lot to consider when planning your beach wedding. Some things you may not have thought of with your traditional wedding. Here are some tips to help you:

1) First thing you’ll want to do is check the weather for the time of year you are planning. You’ll want to note when the tides come in and out, what the average temperature is, and the chances for rain. Wedding dates can be difficult to change later, so some advanced planning can go a long way. It can be rather cold in Pensacola during the winter months with temps. in the low 60′s.

3) There are quite a few events that take place yearly in Pensacola. You could plan your big day around one of these:

3) Have a sunset reception. If you’re having your beach wedding in the hotter summer months, an evening reception will be much cooler for your guests.

4) The many events in Pensacola offers a variety of themes for your beach wedding. Guests may not feel like dining on heavier fare when on the beach, so stick with simple dishes like fruits and salads. If you are going to have a main dish, go with seafood like shrimp or crab. If you can, try finding bakery that will special order a cake with a theme from one of the many events in Pensacola (like a Blue Angels cake).

5) Don’t bother with balloons and confetti. If you have confetti, you’ll be responsible for cleaning up the mess. They are not good for the environment anyway.

6) Don’t go overboard with the decorations. It can lessen the elegant wedding you are trying to create.

7) If you are going for inexpensive you can always search the beach for seashells and sand dollars. These make great centerpieces for your reception.

8) If your reception will be going into the evening, get some Christmas lights or lanterns to decorate the reception area. You won’t have to worry about them blowing out in the wind or blowing out in the wind.

9) Sand can be an issue on the beach. If you’d like to keep it as sand-free as possible, look into a pool side reception. There are quite a few resorts that will offer areas that are next to the beach.

10) Get an open-sided canopy. It helps to define the reception area and will provide protection from the sun (as well as the rain) while still allowing full view of the beautiful beach setting.

11) When choosing colors for a beach wedding go with lighter tones. Dark colors retain heat and you’ll want to make sure everyone is comfortable.

12) Then there’s the music. Anything by the Beach Boys is good, or go with some Reggae like UB40 or Bob Marley.

13) You and your guests might want to take a dip in the water so make sure you have a lifeguard on hand. Especially if you’ll have younger guests attending.

14) Pensacola offers a variety of attractions for your guest. Everything from fishing, chartering a boat, swimming, to taking a dolphin cruise. You can dive the Oriskany artificial reef (the largest artificial reef ever created), scuba dive, and snorkel. From March through November you and your guest can watch the Blue Angel’s at the National Navel Aviation Museum. For more family oriented appeal there’s Sam’s Fun City with a water park and arcade games – home of Rocky and Bullwinkle.

15) And above all, have fun! By planning ahead and having others around to manage the numerous details you will help ensure the most enjoyable celebration.

Summer is approaching quicker than you think and you may be going to head off to the beach for a family vacation with your kids. It is never too early to plan a summer vacation. Something you will most likely need are beach backpacks for kids. For kids, a backpack is a very handy accessory that can carry just about everything they will need for a day trip or even a weekend, from clothes to toiletries and ipods to hats, jackets, toys and books. As well, having a backpack to lug supplies down to the beach area is very handy, whether you are a toddler, young kid, parent or teen.

The type of kid’s beach backpacks you need depend on the ages and sizes of your children, as well as what you, or they, need the backpack for. A beach trip is one of the funniest trips a kid can go on, but there are considerations not found on other types of trips where backpacks are used. A beach trip usually involves more sand, sun, salty air and salt water.

You may want a functional kids beach backpack for the carrying of clothes and sundries or you may want to buy one that can carry items such as food and water bottles. As well you can find combined backpacks that have a separate removable section for clothes and one for food or drink. Also popular are beach backpacks for little kids that are used to carry all of their sand toys. You can tell there are a variety of backpacks to think about depending on the needs or ages of the kids.

One thing to look for is the ability of the beach backpack to be waterproof. These are not the easiest bags to find for older kids and shopping online seems to offer the best choice in this variety. One popular older kid’s beach backpack is divided into two sections. The top mesh section is for holding clothes and towels, and the bottom insulated section acts like a cooler for food or drink.

You are going to want separate compartments in any older kids beach backpack since this will help keep items like hair products or suntan lotion away from clothing or towels. As well make sure the exterior is made of nylon or some heavier waterproof fabric. A denim bag would not be very good against water of course. Most kids beach backpacks are designed to have a drawstring top, be lightweight and have just a few separate areas for keeping a towel, money, suntan lotion, maybe a hat or book, and very little else. Beach backpacks are not as large or cumbersome as school or camping ones. Most beach backpacks are for one day trips down to the sand area and that is about all.

For little tikes there are a variety of kid’s beach backpacks for carrying toys. Most seem to be clear plastic with some colorful designs or stitching. They usually are light since the toys are all plastic. These types of backpacks may come with little sand molds, buckets, plastic tools, and scoops. These beach backpacks for kids are not meant to carry anything but toys. They are good because they are fairly water proof and can tolerate sand well. You simply have to rinse your child’s toys in the water and stuff them back in the bag, ready to use the next day. You can never get rid of all the sand accumulated from a day at the beach, so these backpacks work well to keep all of the sandy toys together. They are also light enough that little kids can carry them, even though the shoulder straps are sometimes non existent or not comfortable.

There is nothing keeping you from being creative and using these clear beach backpacks for clothes. There are also larger kids clear school backpacks which can be used as dedicated beach backpacks instead.

A beach backpack for kids would make the perfect gift for the child that you know goes to the beach on occasion, or your own kid. Having been to the beach many times with kids myself I can attest that they do come in very handy and make things so much easier to carry items and keep them out of the sand. You may want one for each kid plus yourself, so everyone can carry some of their own beach gear.

Steering is much easier on a small boat, which combined with its price tag, makes it a great boat to learn on. Since they are so light, there will be less damage if you bump into something on the water. They are also easier to navigate on small lakes and rivers.

When you are dealing with a boat that exceeds approximately twenty feet, they begin to take the shape of the single hull sailboat. This means that there is a rudder wheel near the stern with a cabin towards the bow. All of the controls for the sails such as ropes and winches are found on the deck. They also usually have an engine with a propeller as an alternate form of power. Wind power is not always sufficient.

Another type of sailboat, a racing a boat, also come in different shapes and sizes. However, there is a standard type of boat for official races. Yacht racing is the most popular and utilizes forty four foot boats with a single hull.

The last type of sailboat is the catamaran sailboats which have two hulls with a deck spanning the gap between them.

Sailing can be a very difficult sport as there is a great deal of skills to learn. There is a strategy behind it and many controls that you will have to learn how to operate. Racing is even more difficult as you have to learn to work with a team. Team members practice together for years to perfect how they work together. Whatever type of sailing you choose to do, it is a worthwhile experience and you will have an amazing time!
